چکیده
Polydactyly is one of the most co mmon congenital limb dysplasia frequently observed in fa rm anima ls and varies e xpressivity. He rein, a preliminary investigation on inheritance types polydactylyin hundred four (104) ducklings produced by seven (7) mating g roups (MGs) different genotypes werereported. These were from non descript random bred population Muscovy ducks Netherlands data generated ana lysed with descriptive (percentage bar chart) infe rential statistics{Chi-square (χ2)}. The resultsindicated that irrespective parents, polydactyl gene (Po) had inco mplete do minance penetrance ducklings; however, frequencies polydactyly was not significantly (P>0.05) d ifferent fro m xpected proportions all M Gs. Fu rther analysis expressivity revealed prevalence bilateral xpression (97.18% ) mpared to unilatera l inc idence (2.82% ).The phenotypic mutant classified into sixteen (16) distinct about one-third (31.82%) exp ressed type 5 polydactyly. In addition, dosage effect Poand twin polyphalangeal(PoTP) genes exerted influence incidence polydactylism types. highest number xpressed progenies homozygous parents. Occurrence of reovirus infection in Muscovy ducks (Cairina moschata) in south western Poland.
During the summer 2012 an incidence of high mortality, above 44 percent, in two flocks of Muscovy ducklings in Poland was noted. The clinical signs included considerable weight loss and inability to walk. During the post-mortem evaluations dehydration and enteritis, gouty kidneys as well as hemorrhagic liver and spleen lesions were found. The laboratory diagnosis included agar gel precipitation...
متن کاملDescription of the Muscovy duck (Cairina moschata) karyotype.
The karyotype of the Muscovy duck originating from Cairina moschata was characterised on the basis of R and C bands. Chromosomal preparations obtained from an in vitro blood lymphocyte culture were RBG- and CBG-stained. The structures of nine and fourteen pairs of chromosomes were examined based on R bands and C bands, respectively. Ideograms of banded patterns of the analysed chromosomes were ...
متن کاملOverfeeding and genetics affect the composition of intestinal microbiota in Anas platyrhynchos (Pekin) and Cairina moschata (Muscovy) ducks.
To investigate the effect of overfeeding on the ileal and cecal microbiota of two genotypes of ducks (Pekin and Muscovy), high-throughput 16S rRNA gene-based pyrosequencing was used. The ducks were overfed for 12 days with 58% maize flour and 42% maize grain. Samples were collected before the overfeeding period (at 12 weeks), at 13 weeks, at 14 weeks, and 3 h after feeding. In parallel, ducks f...
متن کاملInheritance of duration of fertility in female common ducks (Anas platyrhynchos) inseminated in pure breeding or in inter-generic crossbreeding with Muscovy drakes (Cairina moschata).
Ducks (common, Muscovy and mule ducks) are the third most important bird species in animal production for human consumption worldwide. Our study aimed to improve the efficiency of mule duck breeding, thus contributing to the efficiency of food production in general. In the common duck, females can be bred either with males of the same species (i.e. in pure breeding (PB) subscript p) or in inter...
متن کاملMolecular characterization and tissue-specific expression of invariant chain in the muscovy duck (Cairina moschata).
The invariant chain (Ii) plays an important role as a chaperone for MHC II maturation and facilitates antigen presentation in vertebrates. We cloned, characterized and made a homology analysis of healthy adult muscovy duck Ii (MDIi), from a poultry farm in the suburban district of Hefei city in China, by rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE)-PCR and by measuring expression of the MDIi ge...
